RWANDA TOUR – 11 DAYS

Day 1: London to Kigali Day 2. Arrival.
Depart from London to Kigali Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by a representative who will introduce you tour driver guide. The transfer to your Hotel. Dinner.
Day 3: Kigali / Bugesera Mellinium Village Tour
Pick up after breakfast there before the ride starts, you will be given a historical briefing by our very experienced and friendly guides regarding the trip .Then, you’ll be ready for your 45-minutes picturesque ride to the Southern Province of Rwanda.
Departing from Kigali, you will be comfortably driven across the vibrant towns of Kigali as you go a bit further from the main Kigali City.
One cannot learn about the Rwandan community, without understanding the history of Genocide and the effects it has left on the Rwandan people. The first stop of this tour is therefore Nyamata Genocide Memorial for an understanding of what really Rwandans went through. There you visit a formerchurch where over 10, 000 people (mostly women and children) were slaughtered and bombed after being given out by the church officials. You will be moved by the realness of the atrocities committed in that setting.
Next, you will visit and interact with previously impoverished women who have now come together to form a Women weaving cooperative. These women came together to do commercial weaving and make a
living out of it in order to fight poverty among themselves and foster a culture of self-reliance and job- creation and also instilling the culture of gender equality culture. You will also get to see the agricultural intervention stations. There will be a local farmer who enthusiastically will take you around his farm, and give an extensive discussion on how he practices his agriculture with the SDGs interventions.
After going through the basket weaving experience, you will finally visit a Reconciliation village. This a village that simultaneously houses Genocide survivors, the Ex-perpetrators and Rwandan Returnees.
You will hear their testimonies and their journey towards reconciliation. You will enjoy a local get-together
'ubusabane' with cultural interaction, food and drinks, and of course the real testimonies of community members. After the rush from dances and drinks, you will bid good-bye to the community members and you will be driven back to Kigali and your hotel or other stay.
3pm transfer to convention centre for the start of the katha.
Day 4: KIGALE CITY TOUR
After breakfast transfer to the convention centre for the katha. After lunch we go on a city tour of Kigale . Start the tour with a visit to the genocide memorial site,a grim reminder of the sensless massacre of innocent lives in 1994. Learn about Rwandas history and hoe Rwanda has dealt with the past.We continue our tour and see the new developments in Rwanda., the recovery has been incredible, a testament to humankinds resilience.. Transfer to convention centre. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 5: Kigali/ Visit To Nyamirambo Women Center
After breakfast transfer to the convention centre. After lunch we visit the Nyamirambo women
Center. The most popular offering, the walking tour begins at the Women’s Center with a traditional snack, a quick Kinyarwanda language lesson, and an introduction to the Center and its activities. It then weaves through Nyamirambo, one of Kigali’s oldest neighborhoods. Along the way guides lead participants into a women's hairdressing salon where the adventurous type can get a free braid; into a family compound to pound cassava leaves; by two mosques and a lookout view over Kigali; and into a tailor shop to feel the fabrics you'll otherwise see styled on the streets. The tour concludes with a traditional snack made and served in the home of Aminatha NWC's best cook. Transfer to convention centre. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 6: Visit to the market
Morning transfer to convention centre after breakfast. Afternoon visit to the market. Then transfer to convention centre. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 7: Kigali/ Visit the Campaign Against Genocide Museum & Caplaki Craft Market
After breakfast transfer to convention centre. After lunch visit to the caplaki craft centre. This is a centre full of handmade crafts that will surely remind you alwayws of Rwanda.All products reflect the glorious lively colors that represent Africa the continent.
If you visit the genocide memorial, you should also visit this museum which is located in the Parliamentary building. It was just opened at the end of 2017 and provided a more political perspective on the events up, during and after the genocide.
It depicts in details how the Campaign Against Genocide Plan was executed by RPF/A following the withdrawal of UN troops leaving the targeted Tutsi under the mercy of the Genocidaires and how only the RPF/A forces who were in the war of liberation took the unilateral decision to stop Genocide, Rescue victims of Genocide and defeat the Genocidal forces.
This CAG Museum also has its outer part comprised of monuments including that of the 12.7mm Machine
Gun that helped in containing the advancing genocidal forces.
It will also appeal to those interested in military strategy since it shows various battles; describes the different strategies used by the government and the anti-genocidal forces. Transfer to convention. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 8: Visit to Richard’s Museum & Former Presidential Palace & Hotel des mille Collines
Morning at convention centre. After lunch visiting, dedicated to Richard Kandt, in his former home of German resident Richard Kandt on the Nyarugenge Hill in Kigali city, which now was turned into Natural History Museum since 2006. The museum strives to show the evolution of life, description of Flora and Fauna of Rwandan Natural Parks (Nyungwe, Akagera and Volcanoes), geological background of Rwanda, German and Rwanda shared history and exhibition of live reptiles (snakes) with the aim to
explain the interrelation between nature and history as result of natural history museum. It is also the best view of three mountains (Mt Kigali, Mt Jali and Mt Shyorongi) and best view of old kigali city.
After that go visit the most famous hotel in Rwanda . Inaugurated in 1973 as the premier grand hotel of the country and becoming a shelter to, a light of hope in the darkness for a terrified crowd of up to 2,000 people who were saved by the hotel opening its doors in 1994 during the Genocide against the Tutsi. Transfer to Convention centre. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 9: Mt Kigale and Rebero connect
After breakfast transfer to the convention centre. After lunch at 2.30 pm we drive around d Kigalis two hills from Kigali city center via nyamarimbo old city where we will get a chance to see mosque of kadaifi, then Mt Kigali-Rebero taking in views of different angles of Kigale. Evening transfer to convention. Overnight Stay in hotel.
Day 10: Shopping Activities
After breakfast transfer to convention centre. In the afternoon after lunch we visit some gift shops for last minute shopping. Transfer to convention centre. Late departure from hotel to airport.
Day 11: Departure Day 27/04/2018 Late Night. Check out 10:00 PM (Night).
